Nick Markakis is a teacher and psychotherapist. He was born ( 11 \/ 11 \/ 1964 ) and raised in Piraeus. He studied pedagogigs in the Pedagogical Academy of Thessaloniki ( 1982 \u2013 1984 ) and has been working as a teacher for the past 28 years ( since 1987 ). For 5 years he undertook a secondment in Germany in Native Language Classes, where he taught the children of Greek immigrants. During the school year 2007 -08 he served as a Primary School Principal, but eventually resigned in order to go back to the class \u201cwhere he felt his soul complete, he felt fulfillment and joy\u201d.<\/p>\n

He got a Psychology Prediploma in the University of Hamburg and a Psychology Degree in the Panteion University of Athens. He was on a secondment for a year in the Faculty of Primary Education of the University of Athens, in the Department of Education and Psychology, where he took part in both teaching and research.<\/p>\n

He was trained in the Athenian Institute of Anthropos ( A.I.A. ) in psychometrics tests W.I.S.C. and the Thematic Apperception Test ( T.A.T. )<\/p>\n

Since 1999 he has undertaken Adult Education and has been giving lectures. He is also the organizer and coordinator of Adult groups and School for Parents in Nurseries, Kindergartens, Primary and Secondary Schools, Private centers, offering training, advisory, prevention and therapy. For the past few years he has been working on his own groups : Educational and Therapeutical Adolescent Group, Adult Educational Groups, Therapeutic and Education of Young Adults. At the same time he continues his work as a teacher ( in the 28th Primary School of Piraeus ) while working as a Co-therapist in the Women and Men group Therapy in the A.I.A.<\/p>\n

He has been the trainer of trainers ( A 2 ) in the Major Training Programme of the Institut of Education in psychology issues.<\/p>\n

He is a member of the Greek Society of Systemic Therapy ( ELESYTH ), of the Panhellenic Psychological Association and the Association of Teachers of Piraeus, \u201cRigas Fereos\u201d.<\/p>\n

He is the writer of the book \u201cIf you love your kids, love yourself first\u201d ( 7th edition, Agyra publications, Athens ), where he shares his experience as a teacher and psychotherapist, based on Systemic Thinking. His articles have been published in educational magazines and newspapers.<\/p>\n
